I love this movie and I'm really glad that you guys loved it too. This was based on a true story and IP man did really fight that general in a small tournament and was shot like in the movie and as a result became an Opium addict to ease the pain of his gun shot wound which was really sad, hopefully everyone will vote for the next three movies.

Yeah I loved the movie too, and like you guys I didn't expect to see all this goodness when I clicked on the netflix thumbnail. as you know, not every fighting movie is a good movie, unless it lands on Jackie Chan or Jet Li's laps, and I think this surpases many of Jackie's work, because its backed with a decent story, believable drama, unrecongnizable fighting style. Your reactions were on point, absolutely loved it, worth the wait and can't wait for you to see the other parts, specially 3, I hope you don't get a spoiler of who he goes against -fingers crossed-
