The guy in the beginning Doug Cheston was voiced by Justin Roiland from Rick and Morty. Regarding Mark not telling Amber I think him having reservations is fair, considering the fact that she used blackmail to get Todd to deliver her number to him, also she only started showing real interest in him when she saw him with Eve. So him being hesitant is understandable to some degree those are some red flags or at the very least they are not the actions of someone I would trust with secrets. She actually began to suspect that Mark was a drug dealer in the comics which was pretty funny, but not in line with the show's version of Amber who is smarter than the comic version.

Mark getting his ass whooped as you said in this episode is to be expected considering he just got out of hospital after getting beat to within an inch of his life, he still had heavy injuries external and probably internal, he even shook his hands as if they hurt after punching the Reanimen. Regarding Mark being a bad hero we did see that long montage of him defeating villains last episode, granted they weren't huge threats but still he is cleaning house to some degree, but he is starting to fight foes who are unfazed by his fledgling powers (having only got them fairly recently still, he only solved landing an episode or two ago). The Reanimen story line in the comics was much longer and Rick was missing for around a Year before the final confrontation between invincible and D.A. Sinclair, so it felt a bit rushed condensing it in one episode, not that it was bad it just felt like really odd pacing for me. The Reanimen seem to pack a bit more punch as well, which is a recurring theme for the villains so far they all seem to pack a bit more punch right now, possibly to highlight the growth in Mark and the other heroes after they train some more.

Great reaction as always yall. I'm so excited that we're finally getting to these last 2 episodes. When I first came into this show, I knew nothing about the Invincible universe and my first impressions were "Wth is this knockoff DC comic", but the end of episode one completely shocked me in the best way possible. The show definitely slowed down a bit after the huge initial surprise, but like I said before, the set up will all be worth it. This show quickly became one of my top all time favorite shows because of these last 2 episodes. I've always wanted to see some superhero universe where they show gore because if you think realistically about a universe with super powers... just imagine the sheer destruction and devastation that a super villain could cause. When a story is written well enough it gets the audience to imagine all that without having to actually show it, but when the story is written well and show the gore, it just adds a whole extra layer of intensity. (i.e. Game of Thrones). As you guys saw from episode 6, things get deeper and darker and it only ramps up from here to the season finale. The thing I love most about this show is that I'm not some gore nut that wants to see gore just to see gore and this show doesn't show gore just to show gore. They don't use it as a cheap shock value tactic, but rather, it perfectly encapsulates the reality of this imaginary world :)

If you haven't read them yet I can't recommend the comics highly enough, the show is making enough changes to the story its actually still quite hard to predict what will happen when, there are even parts like most of the next episode which is completely unique to the show and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The main stipulation I have regarding this episode is how Amber reacted to everything that happened, she was seemingly angry at Mark because he had been hit by a bus (as far as she knows anyway) which was strange I get that he was like a week late but that seems like a valid reason and she was quick to try and rebound with that Kyle dude, only a few hours after the fight (not a great sign). Also she was needlessly rude to Rick when she took his room without even asking for permission first, something that as a guest seems discourteous. Although Mark got what was coming in the courtyard, the rest seems a little uncalled for mainly the Rick thing but still. I cannot wait for the next episodes they are fantastic. P.s the kid at the end was the security guard from the first episodes step-son

Mark getting beat up by every villain is now becoming a habit and it makes me question his superhero name because he's anything but Invincible. Also Debbie confronting Nolan was very brave but that scenario could've played out very differently and you guys almost Jinxed it by saying what if Nolan killed by Debbie😱😱😱 Also Mark not revealing his identity to amber was frustrating to watch because everyone else in his life knows about it except her, Can't wait for the next one.

My take is that the name Invincible has a few meanings, one being marks naivety because its clearly the name of a dumb kid who just got powers and thinks that he is truly invincible, it also seems to reference his mentality which is for all intents and purposes invincible as he suffers trauma and see's things that could really break someone but he bounces back (granted other heroes also go through similar shit, but he definitely goes through larger scale shit more regularly).
