While I don’t hate this episode as much as the previous one, I still think that it was really bad. First off, the comedy felt beyond desperate. Between the several Fortnite references and the government agent who took all of Cisco’s jokes literally, the humor in this show has somehow gotten worse with each season. The redemption of Abra Kadabra felt even more forced and unearned than in the previous episode with Eva. He brutally murdered an innocent civilian for fun and the episode treats his death like a huge tragic moment. I’m sorry, but I felt absolutely nothing when he got killed. He was said to be a serial killer in his first appearance who got joy out of seeing people suffer. It honestly didn’t matter to me whether he had a family or not. You can’t try to make me feel bad for him when he dies after he does so many horrible things for no reason. Speaking of which, I understand the CGI isn’t the best in this show and the budget obviously isn’t movie standards, but good lord. The big CGI woman at the end looked atrocious. I’ve seen the show do so much better with the designs of these kinds of characters. This was just awful. I also don’t buy the trauma side plot. The episode beforehand shouldn’t have redeemed the main villain and acted like she became friends with Barry and Iris if what she did is supposed to be treated like such a horrifying thing. I feel bad for being so critical of this episode as I was originally really excited to see it before it came out since David Dastmalchian who played Abra Kadabra is a super talented and underrated actor, but he was just wasted in this episode. If this episode was supposed to get me excited for the new plot, I have to be honest. It really didn’t grab me in the slightest.

Loved the reaction guys, This was an ok introduction to this season and I agree it was a bit slow paced but understandable after the season they had, also I'm glad they showed IRIS struggling because she went through hell last season and she will need that support group. Also the creature that showed up was one menacing looking beast and RJ I doubt very much that it ran away because of a Dog Whistle 🤣🤣🤣and as always loved hearing your theories to how it will unfold and I can't wait for your reaction to the next one.

I liked this episode more than the finale which saw Mirror Eva retire to her world like that wasn’t always an option. That they really got people out here with trauma makes me feel like I need to file a citizen complaint about how the Flash handles their villains. The Abra Kadabbra arc I really enjoyed despite not being a fan fav of his. They took time with understanding where his grief came from and was better acted in the end with Barry than expected. I wouldn’t call it redemption but a moment in time where one decides to be better than they were yesterday. He’s still a murderer that didn’t pay for his crimes. Remember that guy he killed for no REASON other than working the wrong shift. It’d be interesting to see if Barry would have taken him in for the crime but since all villains get to skeet I doubt it. Barry tryna make Iris forgetting he was tapping the mirror booty ass while his wife watched was hysterical. While I make fun it’s important that Iris broke it down as something that also happened to him not because of him. They don’t show Iris struggle enough; when she said months I spit out my coffee cause that type of isolation screws with you mentally. She also needed to be supported by her husband and not always vice versa. Show her weak so that we can appreciate when she’s strong. Plus it challenges the actors when the drama is organic and not contrived as in later scenes in the season. We still haven’t digested how she shot her best friends evil self in the back. Girl got bodies! But they made an effort, time to step that up after 7 seasons don’t ya think? Overall, a fresh start to this new universal world. I like the small details like Flash showing up for a news conference. Barry thinking for himself and leading while also maintaining being a CSI. Iris having asides away from the male protagonist. Adam I agree that CGI woman was atrocious but only because I didn’t know it was supposed to be a woman. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Afterwars it wasn’t worst than some other things I’ve seen done. Barry also had let plenty of villains go and is still traumatized the same thing should be allowed for Iris although Eva’s ending was in a word sloppy. Dog whistle was not a bad theory bruh cause I was thinking the same thing; someone called their monster home.
