Hey guys the way this episode was shot always impressed me. Starting off with JD and Elliot from the first night they got together. Then 1 day after that in their honeymoon phase, Then 1 week after that, when you start to notice the little things about your partner. And then 2 weeks after that same first day, when reality starts to set in and you finally see things clearly. Elliot said it best. "Are relationships supposed to be this hard?" Sure, every relationship hits rough patches and needs to have room for discussion, but when it starts out this complicated, it´s better to end it than to drag it out Turk and Carla are completely different in that regard and Dr Cox is on a whole other level, since he brings so much more experience AND a failed marriage to the table. But even he still believes in love. I always found that insight very powerful. More great things to come. Love you guys, great reaction and i see you in the next one.

When this show first aired I was into a guy who JD really reminded me of. With a decade or so of distance from that...he's such a child. When he says, I'd be having sex with you even if I didn't respect you! And then that stuff about not wanting to be friends with your girlfriend. Kick his ass to the curb girl. I'm not saying Elliot has it all together at this point either, but JD is so skeevy sometimes. I do love the choice to do the classic will they/won't they sitcom thing. That's all I'll say for now to not get spoiler-y.

This was the episode that really sold me on the show and I'm glad whatever you're watching on had the extended/full version. Gave some real depth to Dr Cox, and I love Carla's line that no-one gave her 180000 dollars to become a doctor, a lot of medical shows are so busy painting their doctors as selfless troubled demigods, they kind of gloss over the level of privilege you often have to have to even be able to study for years to get to that point. Little details like that really make this show great.

This was a brilliant episode and everyone did an amazing job and I loved the therapy everyone received unintentionally and as always Dr.Cox was the MVP. can't wait for the next one.

Oof, one of the best episodes of the first season, and one that I hate rewatching because it goes places that hit way too close to home. Your mileage may vary in the later seasons, but early Scrubs has such a realistic depiction of 21st century romance. And, at the time, it was actually really refreshing for a sitcom to subvert the whole “he’s pretty and the lead actor, she’s pretty and the lead actress, obviously they’re in love! but will they or won’t they?!!” trope by just playing out the relationship in one episode and showing why they aren’t right for each other right now. And yes, it goes without saying, but Cox steals MVP as always.
