OMG This whole family is Insane and every single sibling take after their mother and I think only Michael take after his Dad and that's why he's sane compared to the rest. Also Buster is basically a Child and he was hilarious throughout this episode and Like you guys mentioned camera panning and revealing him behind casually sitting while they are talking about him was pure gold and I loved it. Can't wait for the next one.

STEVE HOLT!!! I've seen this episode countless times and I never fail to laugh every time someone touches the cornballer.

Gaaaaahd the writing is so tight. This episode's a good case study in comedy writing's Rule of Three, except that Arrested will often make it "comedy comes in threes, but sometimes plus one." First you get the setup: "STEVE HOLT!" Then the repetition: Maeby shouting "STEVE HOLT!" And finally the subversion: George Michael's "stand-in for... Steve Holt?" "STEVE HOLT!" And then the plus one here with "BEATRICE!" My favorite use of it is the visual gag where Michael and co. have long, personal discussions about Buster, and then the camera pulls out to reveal that he's been there the whole time. Setup: Lucille pawns him off to Michael at the company office Repetition: Michael and George Sr discuss his 11 months in the womb (Christ!) in jail Subversion: Michael, Buster, and Lucille have a deep, kind of emotional talk for a long while, only to reveal the Bluth company staff has been there the whole time And sometimes it's just there without a punchline: GOB puts three random things in the office shredder, Tobias's sexuality is questioned three times ("two young men playing grab-ass in the shower," Maeby casually drops that "he thinks everyone is gay," and his referring to Steve as 'she' when talking to Michael), the Cornballer burns people three times, "zip me up" happens thrice, GOB tries crashing in three different places, etc. Anywho, for hidden/background jokes: *At the start, Tobias makes himself a cup of coffee, takes a sip, and GOB wordlessly takes it from him. He makes another cup, takes another sip, and Lindsay wordlessly takes it from him again, and no one acknowledges any of it. Hell, if you count when he spills his coffee when he falls out of his seat at the high school, that's another triplet. *The play they're all doing is billed as 'Much Ado About Nothing" and that is indeed where the characters Beatrice and Benedick are from (hi, Shakespeare nerd here). But the lines the kids are saying are actually from another play, 'As You Like It." A lot of people think this is a goof, but I've always seen it as another gag about how shit an actor Tobias actually is. *Being as vague as possible, but: we've had quite a few "Tobias in the shower" scenes. Y'all notice anything... weird going on? If not, don't look into it, but maybe keep it in mind going forward. On this rewatch, I'm actually surprised by how many recurring gags and character stuff is set up this early. Fucking love this show.

By now, you're undoubtedly getting used to the unusual nature of the "Next Time on Arrested Development..." bits at the end. Hardly ever do they actually happen in the next episode. Basically they're a way to wrap up any loose plot threads from this episode, plus a chance for an extra laugh or two. Yet another of the unique trademarks of this insane, amazing show.

I'm with RJ, sarcasm is where I too am at in life right now
