Security Chang isn't my favorite plotline, but I will be good and goddamned if "Arizona backwards is still Arizona! It's a palomino!" doesn't make me laugh every time. Next episode is the GOAT. I would be worried about overhyping it, but... nah, it's the exact right amount of hype. Especially since RJ hasn't been feeling the last couple, that's a reaction I very much look forward to.

Not the best episode (the Chang plot in particular does almost nothing for me at all), so just a minor note on this one - it actually aired slightly out of order; it was supposed to be 3x04. There's one joke in this one that references something that happens in the next episode, and the end of the episode leads directly into 3x05. It doesn't have too much of an effect on the viewing experience, but it might be worth rewatching the closing sequence as a refresher before starting 3x05.

I think most fans would agree this season gets off to a pretty slow start as they use these first few episodes as a way to introduce us to some new plot threads and characters... but do not fear, it'll settle into place and start pumping out bangers again, starting with the next episode.

i actually really like this episode. the random nonsense that was Chang's story this episode is just always hilarious to me. and any episode where the study group is at each other's throats is always great. but i agree-- this and the past few episodes definitely haven't reached the high expectations that Community has set by now. i will say s2 Community is my personal favorite season (in terms of structure) just for the fact that it has a little bit more consistency and rhythm. for example if there was ever an episode where I found myself saying "that was alright..." it was usually because it was gaining momentum for something big right after. BUT that's of course not to say that's not happening here either :) S3 really has a lot of the best and most memorable episodes of the entire show, so I have hope the "blow-your-socks-off" type episode is coming for you guys ! apologies for the long comment. loved the reaction & discussion, can't wait for the next one
