ok i know i say this practically every other episode, but this is SERIOUSLY one of my fav s2 episodes, cannot express enough how much i love it. their decision to have this episode as a mockumentary was brilliant. it was definitely very dramatic and emotional, especially the stuff with Jeff and his dad. Pierce's whole psychological-vengeance plot against the group was so fucked up--but honestly (like u said) it was a pretty genius plan that ALMOST worked. a few episode highlights for me is the scene with Jeff and Britta pretending to be each other's dads (the bounce-back between them is always great), AND of course Troy and his tragic journey of meeting his idol, LeVar Burton. the scene of him rage-screaming, and also the one of him on the floor sobbing while singing the "reading rainbow" song, will never not make me laugh. glad to see u guys enjoyed this one, loved ur reaction !

Loved everything about this Abed's brilliant Documentary, Troy was hilarious throughout this episode, but I'm mad that Pierce keeps getting away with Stupid stuff. What he did to his "friends" would get you killed or at least get kicked out of the group, especially what he did to Jeff and I understand it meant as an epiphany for Jeff, but in any other scenario that would've played out very differently, and I don't like that everyone keeps forgiving him which annoys me so much, because they keep encouraging this behaviour and he didn't learn anything from this experience either. Other than that everyone did a brilliant job can't wait for the next one.

As we've said before... it sounds cruel to say it, but Troy being miserable and crying is the funniest thing ever.

Hey guys this was an awesome episode and i have to say that for me the MVP is Pierce. Yes, he is as usual cruel as fuck, but what he accomplished was something else. As we all know by now, this guy has serious problems. Troy and Levar was pure gold 🤣´ Loved your reaction as always and i see you in the next one.

This one was a critics' favorite, one of the best reviewed episodes of the 2nd season. It's also Community's first mockumentary episode. They came up with the story first - the 'Pierce's bequeathing' plotline - then realized Abed could be filming it all and decided to experiment with another genre. An interesting point Harmon and Russo make about this episode is how easy it can be to tell a nuanced story with the mockumentary shooting style, because in the 'talking head' clips the characters just tell the audience directly what they're thinking and feeling. Plus the camera zooms pointing specific things out in the scene make it easier to get a joke across. This was supposed to be a sort of redemption for Pierce, and while not all viewers get that impression because the story is still about Pierce doing a very stupid and potentially harmful thing, I actually think it makes sense for Pierce not to just suddenly change in some fundamental way, rather we understand his emotional state a bit better now and he did concede by saying 'Good point' in the confrontation with Jeff at the end of the episode, which is the most you can expect from Pierce.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the season other than the Chang blackface episode, glad you reacted to it by the way. I honestly don't think it's that racist, the actor is Asian, maybe if it was a white or black person then maybe yes. Anyways on to the documentary episode just an around great episode. I love how Abed is just filming everyone even though how reluctant he was to do it because of of how boring he finds Peirce. The bit with Britta not taking the money is the best though because Peirce tells her to give it to the charity of her choice but she learned from an early age that it is selfish to think of yourself as charity so in a way Peirce trying to tell her to take the money even though he knows she won't take it. Anyways great episode excited for you to finish the show.

patreon deleted/didn't save my original comment for some reason (or maybe i accidentally deleted lol, i don't remember what happened)--but since it was super long, it's probably for the best. plus everyone said pretty much all my thoughts on this episode, so all i have left to say is: fantastic episode, another s2 favorite (i know i say this pretty much every other episode, but SERIOUSLY). loved u guys' reaction, excellent thoughts, and see u on the next one !
