Shirley's Past is interesting and hopefully it will be revealed later on, also I agree is Pierce actually injured because he has been sidelined for couple of episodes now. Also this romance theme was evident once again in this episode because Jeff and Britta was Kissing and Annie and Troy were so close to kissing Maybe I'm just imagining it.

Thanks so much for the great reaction! I was a little worried in advance, because although I think this is a very good episode, it's a different kind of episode. We get indications that (just like the rest of us) none of their lives is all they might want: Annie is eager to be someone else for an evening, Shirley wasn't always the person we know now, Abed would like to meet someone to talk about all the things that interest him... Jeff and Britta we already knew about. And Troy (again, like most of us when we were younger) imagines that you gain lots of new wisdom when you're an adult, and has to learn that we're all just faking it. He also had a very nice little scene with Annie outside her apartment. I agree, he was the MVP here. But I always love him anyway.

This episode is definitely unconventional (and that says a lot coming from Community) but I really think this episode was needed. Kinda like a heavy group therapy session. You kinda get to the bones of some insecurities. I particularly found the glimpse into Shirly's past very humanizing. This episode is the ultimate crash course in "NO MATTER how old or young you are, you never really have everything figured out" and I think Troy and Annie definitely learned that this episode. Also I am so damn excited for this next episode.
