This is one of my favorite episodes. The Eagleton story is a very fun expansion of the always-growing world of Pawnee, while also having Leslie at her best (eventually) and tying in fun moments from secondary characters as well. The Ron subplot is pure gold, as Leslie and April torture him for the entire episode only for the actual birthday celebration to be utterly flawless. It's a rare TV show that can make me smile as hard as this one did when Leslie opened that door and revealed one chair, a war movie, and an enormous steak.

I love how this show takes real and heartfelt pauses instead of making everything a punchline. The real birthday “party” is something like that kind of like when Ron told Leslie that Justin was just a tourist who took vacations in other people’s lives just for the story. I think that’s one of the things I enjoy the most out of the show. That being said, f*cking Eagleton man and their fancy jail and brunch public forum. I remember when I saw the college admission scandal with all those parents paying millions of dollars to get their mediocre children into prestigious schools I was like “where are these kids and parents from? Eagleton?”
