Loved Your Reaction To This First Season. Michael's Redemption Arc Is Now Complete, And I Loved That Final Scene With The USS Enterprise That Was Epic. This Was An Excellent First Season And Season 2 Is Even Better Than Season 1 In My Opinion And I Can't Wait To See Your Reaction.

Here we are at the end of the line. This was more of a lowkey finale but I actually really like the way the show was able to wrap up everything thematically. I love Michael's journey and growth over this season. The way this episode showcased Michael's trauma and lingering PTSD from both her childhood and the more recent attack from Ash was also a highlight. Speaking of, I think his ending here was very appropriate. He's both Voq and Ash and yet neither. Last episode I loved the way Michael articulated her stance on not wanting to be his crutch on his path toward redemption. It wasn't without compassion for Ash but she was also able to be honest about how hurt she was and how she felt the need to prioritize her own emotional well-being. So many shows like to make a female character "save" or "redeem" a broken bad boy/villain, usually at the expense of that female character. I liked that they had Michael say "No" to that and reiterated that stance in this episode. Ash is on a journey to figure out who he is now and who he can be in the future. Like Michael said, that is something he has to figure out how to do on his own, and he chose to help keep the truce and reunify the Klingons by assisting L'Rell. It was a good move for him. Georgiou still being out there is fantastic. I actually love this version of her so much. She's more playful and fiery with an edge of danger. She's such an agent of chaos and just generally intriguing. You never know what you're going to get. This is the first time a show has taken a Mirror Universe doppleganger and made them a recurring character in the Prime universe to this extent. There are so many possible stories they could mine from bringing a character like her into this world. Giving her such a strange, unique, and cyclical bond with Michael is just icing on the cake. "Daughter who is not my daughter" indeed. Love, love, love the scenes with Amanda and Sarek. Michael's relationship with Sarek has come so far in just a season. He finally called her his daughter and didn't rebuff her when she called him "father." My heart! I love that he asked to be the one to reinstate her to her position. I'm one of those who really enjoyed the hell out of S1, despite some of the flaws. But S2 was on a whole other level for me. It was, quite frankly, transformative for me to watch. I have not been taken to such highs while watching a show as I did for S2 of Discovery. Not in many years. I can't wait til you guys get to it and the Short Treks in between S1 and S2.
