Loved The Reaction, I Agree With You Guys Naomi Needs To Get A Grip And Chill Out With Her Death Wish, Also Amos Was Amazing In This Episode.

Christjen has valid concerns absoutely, BUT she is apart of a system that is very VERY broken. In real life terms she’s FDR in an employment crisis. You either create the jobs or live in a depression and while he was fiercely anti communist they ended up adopting some of their socialist reforms that fixed the problem. Christjen does...nothing. She doesn’t care as she’s a member of the elite so there’s a disconnect with her populace. Nancy cane up through the lottery and Christjens first instinct is to disparage it which is very telling so there’s an audaciousness to leaking she skipped the line when as a political elite she never had to get in one. And Nancy brings up great points this episode. At one point the Atlantic Ocean was so foreign to be alien and yet mankind made its away across and expanded and in the process fixed one problem and created the others. The circle of life. She needs to ask herself if she wants to dictate humanity or be it’s protector and in the role she’s in now; is that possible? I totally understand the frustration with Naomi and her situation; her health is important and she’s putting herself in serious danger. However, it’s a rather human flaw. No one goes through months of physical pain and transformation just to give up after a day or two even if there are side effects. That was always a possibility but the strong woman she is thinks she can get past it. Her face to me when she gets up wasn’t I’m not listening just let me think without concerned eyes upon me and I get that. Reconciling you can’t do something that means ALOT and that you want isn’t quite so easy to give up on. Her journey has lasting effects; what does it mean if you’re a Belter who wants freedom on a planet but your body won’t adapt? Having a personal stake in what that looks like is reflected in her journey. Not a spoiler but this whole arc of Naomi’s was not in the books so this characterization has a purpose. Naomi has a PAST and that past comes with a great deal of emotional and physical trauma which unfortunately rears it’s head but informs her rather stubborn, secretive, independent nature. I’m also Bias AF cause Naomi is my favorite character with Bobby 2nd and it’s a shame the show hasn’t really got there yet so the last seasons we’ve gotten very little of what has shaped the person we know. One tidbit I will mention that was in the show though not correlated is the fact that women who give birth must travel to Ganaymede as gravity is needed and Belters giving birth is quite a process; a painful and vicious endeavor considering the frailty of their bodies and muscle mass. Naomi is a mother who gave birth when she was much much younger (15) Good news is S5 just like book five we actually get to know Naomi Nagata and boi let me tell ya!Lawd, I’m just gone let you meet one Marco Inaros and we can reconvene 😬 love you bunches

Additionally forgot to add while everyone keeps mentioning how LIT season 5 is, season 4 is very necessary table dressing and not to be written off. Honestly season four sets up season 5 through book 8. Of course you won’t know this if you didn’t read the books but that’s not to say season 4 was shoddy. Actually most book readers were thrilled to actually get padding to the awful snooze fest that was Cibola Burn. Also, what I love about this show with the SRs being the book writers is that they don’t take the characters to places the audience wants but what fits narratively for that character, showing their strengths and weaknesses and without question our heroes are all flawed and in the flux of rapid changing history. I just kinda feel that perspective gets ignored as political intrigue is not just the mystery of moving parts but the issues that manifest in the wake of a constant chess game. Sorry I rambled again.
