this raises a lot of philosophical questions that plumb the depths of my mind. Follows increases an artists monthly listeners. Hearts on the album once it is out tomorrow will CERTAINLY help! Putting the songs on playlists helps! But it's really the plays that matter in terms of $$$ ... but those other things drive how often Spotify is serving out via discovery, etc. And what matters more to me than the $$$ this album makes is just that a lot of people hear it! OK that's sort of a inside-baseball answer but I hope it answers your questions!

Just wanted to jump on to say how much I am loving the album--very happy I supported it on Kickstarter, but it seemed like here was a better place to comment. :) (Side note: It's the sort of thing my mind still wants to go to twitter for, reaching out to an artist to say I loved their work, but I haven't tweeted in over a year because it was making me really unhappy. But thinking back on fun interactions I had with Andrew on Twitter back in the day makes me miss when I was able to enjoy it!)
