Everyone's invited: this stream will be open to every patron! Because we're feeling the love!

The monthly livestream – enigmatic, elusive – is a perk at the DJs Who Play Our Song (aka $10) level. But this month, in the spirit of the new year, the new decade, and the new installments of the Takeo Cinematic Universe (our new favorite phrase), we are opening the livestream to all tiers.

JOIN US to hear about all the TCU INSIDE DIRT! Rats, pigs, MMA, kendo, capoeira, cinematography, beef with airbnb hosts, all of it.

Especially for everyone at the 1, 2, or $5 level, consider this a big dose of behind-the-scenes, straight-from-the-horses-mouth stories about schmoyoho production.

At stream time we will publish a new post (and comment here) with link to unlisted youtube livestream.

Looking forward to it! -Evan G

1pm EST....that's 6pm GMT for you time zone aficionados out there.

Here are just a few more vignettes of the memorable TCU shoot - days and nights: *An unnerving moment; at the conclusion of the Chicken Pig attack saga, an exhausted Kingpin, breathing hard, goes down on one knee, all unscripted. My first thought...oh, oh asthma attack! When I later asked if he was ok, Aki laughed and said "Yappari jozu desu ne... If I fooled you, I must be a good actor, after all." *Restless between scenes, Takeo-san, along with his 2 assistants, opts to go out to a local Brooklyn bar for a beer or 2 between takes - in full costume. Of course they returned on time; happy, safe and sound. * Midnight on the Red Hook waterfront; Takeo and the crew arrive to meet the others at the glorious final battle scene. Takeo-san stops at the sound of an Autumn cricket in the high river grass. He chirps in the cricket's direction. Cricket listens thoughtfully... and chirps back! The conversation continued for about 20 seconds, and then we continued on our way. * As one of the translators, what I often did was to help bring the script from grammatically-correct college-level Japanese to Kingpin's rough, nasty street language, but I'm proudest of the phrase that I asked to be left untranslated. It's the infamous last line in Rat Attack, the only thing he says in English, and it's pure New York poetry.

lol that is a great BTS description! And I'm glad you kept the last line. "Fucking chickens, man!"
