hi everyone, i hope you're all doing ok!

some of you might remember that a year and a half (maybe two?) years ago i bought a camera and said i'd hopefully be regularly posting photos from it. unfortunately, a short time later my phone broke and needed urgently replacing (i use it for all my video work) and the tl;dr is that i sold the camera to be able to replace my phone.

obviously some time has passed, and recently i've been umming and ahhhing about whether to finally buy the camera back, which had been my original plan. as is so easy to do, when it came down to it (and whenever the camera was restocked) i kept chickening out of the cost 🥲 but last week i made the split minute decision to commit to it- primarily to take some good photos of my grandparents shop before it closes. i took them, and im very glad that i did.

so here's my grandfather, and the shop he and my grandmother have dedicated their lives to since 1973- the shop that luc and i grew up in. my grandparents are hoping to retire in the next couple of months, so im not sure i'll get to see it again.

naturally with the camera quality being that bit better than a phone, im able to zoom right in- and hopefully one day get them printed nice and big. something a little more archival and lasting than an iphone film clip, i suppose 🥲

im not sure how much patreon will crunch the quality, but please trust that it's there 🫡

i did take some other photos, but they weren't all as clear! i have some bad issues with tremors in my hands, and im a little out of practice with an ~actual~ camera, but the nature of fujifilm colour in cameras gives them a film-like quality that i love 🎞️ hopefully i'll also get a little better with time. regardless, i'll really look forward to sharing more with you.

and a solitary portrait shot that i like a lot! (swans!) 🦢

i hope you like them, and i hope you won't mind seeing more!

take care and speak soon, friends x
