hi everyone, I hope you're all doing okay! a small update to start you week- some photos from a walk, some from a developed roll of film, and an illustration.

on film:

some might remember from way back when i started, but my film camera has some sort of strange little light anomaly. i've looked it up and it seems to be a familiar problem with this camera, but no one's quite sure what causes it 😅 i think there's something quite nice about the imperfection, but it can sometimes feel a little annoying nonetheless lol. open to any ideas about it if anyone has any! it only happens sometimes, and i cant seem to find the cause/overlapping circumstance or context. i like these photos a lot regardless- there's something so special about the colours and textures in film, which is what im always chasing in my digital edits 💭

and finally, a little ghost affirmation for the start of my birthday week 🧁

i've drawn this one smaller than i had the previous ghost cards, as a sort of test for some small A7 prints that i'm hoping to make. i want to make something that could be carried in a notebook, a pocket, used as a bookmark etc. hoping to keep working on this next week as well as some stickers, so i can restock (and reopen!) the shop when i get paid at the end of the month.

that's all for today! i hope the coming week is kind to you all.

take care, friends x

So exciting waiting for the film to develop and to see how the photos turned out. It’s true, the texture and colours in the film are different. As for the light anomaly, I’m not sure of the exact cause but it could be worth exploring the possibility of a lens issue or a light leak in the camera body. That's a great idea to create smaller prints of your ghost cards that can be carried around easily. It's always nice to have a little reminder of something that inspires or comforts us, and your ghost cards seem to do just that. Happy Birthday week! Here’s to doing things that ignite your soul. And, to growing in wisdom and grace 🤗 🤎🤎
