hi everyone, i hope you're all doing okay. just a small post to say happy st. davids day (and pancake day!) to you 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌼 i hope that you're able to eat something tasty and get some fresh air.

i'd also like to ask a question- i've been thinking for a little while now about moving from patreon to ko-fi. would this be a big inconvenience for you all?

patreon is ok but a little restrictive in how it lets you post, whereas ko-fi seems to offer more and is still being developed and updated very regularly. for example, on ko-fi I can embed videos from instagram rather than just youtube/vimeo, which would allow me to make the little videos I talked about as reels rather than having to try and start editing/uploading youtube videos again.

it's also a little more user friendly behind the scenes, and would allow me to offer subscriber based content (like here, on patreon) as well as one time payment content or free content- I could keep uploading posts for you all as I do here, as well as making other posts available to a wider audience on a more accessible platform. you can move through a creators profile and navigate by the 'gallery' (just images) and 'posts' (blog style) as well as just scrolling the general feed.

the other main draw of ko-fi is it's 'commissions' section- a tool that allows creators to offer limited numbers of small personal commissions through their ko-fi page. this is something I'm interested in for months when client work is quiet, and seems to be a very pain-free process through ko-fi.

esentially, ko-fi just seems to offer slightly more than patreon does, and is a lot easier/friendlier to navigate for both creators and readers. it moves more like a social media than a newsletter, does that make sense? the community seems more in-touch, rather than everyone working quietly behind the scenes of their own areas.

not sure any of that makes sense, but please let me know what you think. I've set up my page, so if you'd like to, have a look and see how you feel! if people are interested, I can use the hiatus function on patreon to pause my page and your payments, and maybe we could trial ko-fi for a little bit, and see how we all feel?

my ko-fi page

i've added some posts so you can see how it works.

sorry for the long post, and I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts. thank you in advance for your help! 🙇🏻‍♀️
