Patreon Billing Changes; November 2024 (Patreon)

Hey all!

This is an update that concerns all patrons about how you will be billed in the future.

Patreon will be automatically switching my campaign to subscription billing starting on November 1, 2024.

The Changes

• No impact for existing members

  • Current members won’t get notified and will continue to be billed on the 1st, like they always have.

• New members will get charged the day of the month they sign up

  • Rather than being charged on the 1st of the month, members are charged the day they sign up and then each month on the same day, similar to most subscriptions.

• iOS members will be charged 30% on-top of the pledge amount

  • For those that use the Patreon iOS app, you'll be subject to an additional fee that will be added to the tier you pledge to. For example, the $10 will become $14.50.

My Thoughts

For the subscription billing, I have thought about how it would affect my campaign, but I never considered it fully and kept things as they have been for my own sake.

While I'm not thrilled that I have no choice about it, it is what it is, and I got to roll with it now.

My main gripe is the iOS app fee.

Please, if you use the Apple Store app to subscribe to my page, kindly consider resubbing on a computer browser instead. I don't want you all to spend more than what I've set if it can be avoided.

Sincerely, I do appreciate every person that subs to my page, even if it's one-time. You all are the reason I'm able to continue making any art at all, and I am hard at work still trying to get lots done every day.
