very slow day at work today so i kinda made a loooooot of ballpoint pen doodles. gonna clean and color all of them, but for now have a sample!

Perry is about 15 years old here. Young Perry was quite a little wilderness explorer, spending hours and hours poking around in the woods around his home, catching trout in the river, collecting burrs and ticks in his fur, climbing trees, pointedly avoiding his parents, and reading in the shade. All of this upset his mother Liv, but Perry has been upsetting Liv since the day he was born. Liv maintains a very rigid idea of what her child should be, and never wastes an opportunity to exert control over her wayward "daughter". For example, refusing to let Perry cut his long hair ("Why are you trying so hard to break your mother's heart?"). If casually eroding a child's self-esteem were an Olympic sport, Liv would be a gold medalist. Veiled criticism, open criticism, absolutely terrifying hissing fits of rage behind closed doors- Liv's got it all in spades. You're welcome, dear.

Mom and I just had a conversation about how I wasn't girly at all the other day, so I feel Perry. I also happen to be a transman, so Perry and I both had the tomboy to transman pipeline lol.

I find it interesting that we haven't seen Liv's color palette yet, unless she really is as monochromatic as her attitude aye yooooo

Nah Liv isn't monochromatic. Color palettes take me a while to figure out, and when I rush them I'm usually unsatisfied (which is why my characters get redesigned and tweaked fairly frequently). I haven't had the time to figure out Liv's palette, so for now she gets left like this. I imagine she's a sort of stark reddish brown, while Perry's father is a washed-out grey.
