Perry: Unfortunately.

Perry’s father, Felix Fischer, was a famous poet and playwright who married late in life. He died of a mix of alcohol and narcotic abuse when Perry was about ten years old, leaving his only child his large and stately historic home. This came to the total surprise of Perry, as he could count on one hand the number of times his father had ever even spoken to him. He was simply an elusive specter throughout Perry’s childhood that people rather annoyingly expected Perry to mourn over. Alongside the house, he also left Perry a small inheritance, which Perry (alongside his eventual husband Tibbs) would later use to transform the Fischer house into the Pig Sty, a beautiful, iconic bed & breakfast that would become  a powerful draw for queer folk around the country.

Perry’s mother, Olivia Fischer, isn’t happy about any of this. Liv received the bulk of her husband’s wealth and assets when he passed, but this isn’t enough. She wants that house. She deserves that house. If only so that she can feel her marriage was worth something in the end- if only so she can have something besides her impudent embarrassment of an only child, who has defied her wishes for his entire existence. Liv had very rigid expectations for Perry growing up, and Perry proceeded to fail to meet every single one. He refused to wear the pretty lace dresses Liv would so lovingly buy for him- he ALWAYS came home with his ribbons torn and fur askew and skirt muddied, beaming from an afternoon of play with the kids at Froggy Bottom Academy. He chose to become a science teacher, of all things, instead of following her footsteps in the world of business. He was then fired from his teaching job for fraternizing with SWINE (oh how her poor husband must be rolling in his grave!), then defied her yet AGAIN, choosing to marry a filthy, dim-witted BRUTE of a boar. Wicked child! Liv would slap him right in his impertinent face if that horrible PIG wasn’t always looming behind him!

Perry and his mom don’t have a good relationship- most of their interactions involve them antagonizing each other. Liv likes to invite herself to holidays and gatherings to check if Perry has been trampled by that boar yet/get drunk and heap piles of veiled criticism on Perry, while Perry sometimes invites her to the Pig Sty just to show off how successful it is and maybe receive a morsel of pride from her (never gonna happen, Perry).

idk if this is clear, but Perry is sipping from a flask there, not a juice box. His mother’s presence always seems to awaken a few bad habits :/

Liv gives me big "voiced by Wendie Malick" vibes /pos I wonder if any closer Pig Sty visitors comfort Perry or offers words of solidarity cause they also know what it's like to have critical callous parents

I just read it in her voice and WOW it fits so well-
