soooo I'm tweaking Skye a bit, as well as her relationship with Sunny. Looking back, I pretty much only created her to be an obstacle for Sunny and Bruce getting together, which is a kinda unfair premise for a character. I feel....bad? So let's flesh her out a bit more.

-Skye Shepard is a sweet, loyal, and spirited girl from the countryside. The last born in a litter of five pups, she quickly learned how to push hard and fight dirty to get what she wants out of life. She resides in the heart of the big city, where she works as a writer and editor for a large social media company. She visits her boyfriend Sunny on the weekends.

-Skye is a border collie, which is a high energy breed. She needs a LOT of physical and mental stimulation to avoid growing anxious or restless. She and Sunny play together a lot, be it through board games or basketball or excessively ruthless games of tag that go on until 3am, with them wrestling like puppies and knocking knickknacks off shelves. Her energy levels are sometimes so high that even Sunny is left exhausted, so lately she's been giving Bruce her best puppy-dog eyes until he groans and starts bouncing a tennis ball around the apartment for her to chase.

-Border collies are also herding dogs, so Skye is naturally, well...a little bossy. She is just likes for everything to be in it's proper place, is all. She's known to sometimes corral smaller animals, which sometimes includes Bruce. He hates how subtle she is about it, a slight nudge there, an unflinching stare there, and suddenly he's been herded out of his own goddamn apartment so Skye can have the TV for herself.

-As a collie, she is also fiercely brave and protective of her loved ones, and will stare down animals many times her own size.

-Skye is an excellent athlete and plays softball for a local league. She can pitch hard enough to give an elephant a concussion, she knows this because it happened. (And she's still very sorry Missus Trunkerton!)

-Prone to anxiety, Skye often howls to relieve stress. This is not a cute or majestic sound. It sounds like a dying seal, and scares anybody nearby half out of their fur.

-Skye and Sunny are both pretty talented dancers! They regularly enter (and sometimes win!) local dance competitions, be them swing, hip-hop, disco, etc. They are a very lovey-dovey, flirty couple, with syrupy-sweet pet names for each other that include woofsie pup, pawbles, pup cup, pupcake, and a million others that make Bruce want to rip his ears off

-Skye met Sunny back when he was a waiter at a restaurant where she happened to get stood up for a date. When Sunny went to take her order, Skye told him her predicament and started to cry, to which Sunny completely blanked (pretty girl cry what do??) and recommended the mozzarella twisters. It made her snicker a little, they hung out after Sunny's shift ended, and their lives have been cheesy ever since. Sunny is Skye's very best friend, and their personalities are extremely complimentary, with Skye sharp where Sunny is distractible, and Sunny happy-go-lucky where Skye is neurotic.

-Skye is bisexual, Sunny is too. The both of them put out a whole lot of combined queer vibes, to the point where they're often mistaken as being gay and just being friends. It's a private joke they love to lean into. Basically that one John Mulaney bit:

So yeah, I found myself getting attached to their relationship, and now I'm thinking I no longer want to write it as doomed. They have their differences and disagreements, but they are no longer fundamentally incompatible. They are happy together and ultimately consider the other their dumb doggie soulmate. How will this impact Bruce's blossoming dumb crush on Sunny? You'll have to wait and see~
