Of course the roadrunner is going to make a few appearances in the “They Call Me Coyote” series. He is the only companion to a famous coyote I watched on Saturday mornings as a kid. Also the state bird of New Mexico. Going a bit deeper with my personal association and symbolism: I often associate the bird with my father. He wore a belt buckle featuring one. He worked for the highway department for nearly 40 years, it was easy to connect his work with a busy bird that runs up and down the highways!
