The ghosts. Have shadows. Thank you; that is all.

I lied -- there’s more in the chamber. 😜 When I was first watched this episode and reflected, I sooo wished they'd had an insert of Chuck saying to Amara, “The Winchesters? I've distracted them with an exercise. It'll keep 'em busy for a while" (because of his injury) then a cut back to Sam or Dean poring over some evidence or weapon and the other approaching that person to say "Sam [or Dean], did you see that? The ghosts have *shadows*..." “I know, Dean [or Sam]," the weapon-porer would reply, "what do you think this is?” And them realizing it's a distraction, basically Chuck put them in a hodgepodge, high-school-production quality, “SPN”-esque apocalypse bc he's not at max cap, and they'll just have to find the amulet, or sorcerer's stone, or whatever, to level up and get out of there - kind of French Mistake-ish... It could still take the same number of episodes and follow essentially the same story points, but we could acknowledge the atonality, and goofiness, and weird character entrances ("Happened to be in the area" my *eye* 🙄) and Kevin's tragic reveal wouldn't have been a true reveal, just a cheap Chuck ploy ("...or is it?" 🤔 mystery, fine). But alack, alas... this is Buck-leming, who thought this was good for season 15, and they have other stuff that's doesn't feel as off, and I'll look forward to rewatching that stuff. 😌

Yep this was the episode I stopped watching real time. The boring story, the daylight, the Party City ghosts, the wardrobe and jewelry looks so weirdly cheap, destroying Kevin's character AGAIN after shoving him in with Ketch and Rowena feels like the show is slinking into a painfully slow death. It wasn't like the show was on a high rise but I still had faith to hold on. Instead of returning to roots, character beats or remotely being interesting - it's made me feel second hand embarrassed for the show and people I used to love!
