I would far rather for Mr. Greene to have survived. Just so he could spend a few weeks in agonizing pain in the hospital before he died. I don't dislike Tony Gillingham but yeah, there is not a lot of chemistry there. And if I were Mary I would be so damn sick of telling men NO and having them insist on "putting up a fight" as if it's romantic. I loved the scene between Mary and Jack Ross and it's such a relief that he was clear-headed enough to end it. If Rose were a more mature and strong character I'd be supportive of the whole thing, but the fact that she's viciously looking forward to seeing her mother's face "crumble" when she learns of the relationship? No. Jack needs to find someone who loves him more fully and is ready for the reality of what their marriage would be. I mean, if Sybil had had this storyline I'd be cheering them on. Lord Merton is such a lovely gentleman. I don't think Lady Grantham is jealous, exactly, but she's not a fan of the notion of Isobel entering any kind of romantic relationship.
