I’m not 100% sure but I think the whole point of Rowena being there is that after the gadget extracted lucifer, Rowena was to perform the spell to send him to the cage so even though it looked like he escaped through the vent he was actually sent to hell (again nothing for certain, it’s been years since I’ve rewatched s12). Also, the last antichrist was a demon and human’s offspring, and this one is an archangel and a humans offspring, so I think theyre technically a different species of being with different levels of power?

I’m so excited to finally get to this story arc. I feel badly for Kelly. She certainly never asked for all of this. She has to be super confused about everything going on. Hopefully she makes the right decision. And poor Sam and Dean… granted they’ve found themselves arrested and in jail before.. but this is clearly on a waaaay bigger scale. About them thinking they’ve “got Lucifer” … the spell Rowena did on top of the magic egg.. the spell is supposed to have sent Lucifer back to the cage. Now whether or not it worked remains to be seen. Edit to add.. on first watch I wasn’t sure how I felt about this whole storyline, but I came to really like it.🙂

Yeah, the whole reason they got Rowena was so she could preform the spell the sends Lucifer to the cage. They said you couldn't send him to the cage in his vessel, so they needed to extract him(hence the egg). Once he was extracted he could be put back into the cage (by Rowena). His essence going into the vent symbolizes him going to hell, i.e. the cage. Kind of like how they use to send demons back to hell, down means "downstairs".

Love this episode. Typical Sam and Dean loving their gadgets lol. I also thought it was cool AF Castiel just stood there as the car exploded! This was a mid season finale... so yeah! Poor Sam and Dean arrested on some of the biggest crimes in the USA. I like the actress who played Kelly - she was in Dexter in the best season ever.

There's a difference between the anti Christ and a nephilim, the anti Christ was a spawn of a demon/ a human while nephilims are the spawn of an angel/ a human, this is the second mention of nephilims in supernatural, the first nephilim we encountered was back in season 8, the waitress who called cas cute and funny and metatron told cas that she's an abomination and told him to kill her as the second "trial" which were really the second ingredient for the spell that casted the angels out of heaven! Another reminder that angels can have sex! Let's not forget that Arthur ketch killed Magda after Sam thought they saved her and that he gave her a chance to start over after being beaten by her mother for years, i can never forget that! Cas has been a badass this season i love it

I do like where we are now in the season and am looking forward to whats ahead. I actually forgot it's the episode we finally see Ketch's face.

SKK

I am not this particular episode's target demographic, but I respect many of the things this season is trying to do so far.

SKK

It was endearing how Cas rocked on up out of the car and had to be told "Don't..." Looked 'bout fit to smite! 😜

"Weird turn to take." Yes, and I'm not a huge fan though many others are. Still many, many terrific episode ahead, though!

I get excited seeing this episode because I love the next one. And I'm not sure if you know that in the Boys season 3, young Gunpowder was played by the same actor who played Jesse Turner possible antichrist, on Supernatural. Glad you're feeling better💞

Ketch's entrance is one of the best in SPN. I rank it just below Castiel's & OG Death's. The song is what makes it super cool (I love 'Take Five')

this was the mid season finale so we were all unsure what was going to happen but i do love the mid season premiere episode...

Odd double standards here. When she wanted to end the pregnancy and Lucifer disagreed, "Doesn't she get to choose." Then, the moment she seems likely to choose life for her (completely innocent) baby, "Girl, it's the antichrist, don't dip!"
