Some of the shots are beautiful and they went all in on the operatic score. An immortal hunchback of Notre Dame with a dash of the phantom of the opera, they really hitting the French classics while in France. The rooftop and the Paris backdrop for the fight is easily one my fav environment-backdrop for a fight yet (tied with the place in Band of brothers). The epic build when we get the first flashback and the rolling score for their rooftop fight are chefs kiss. Carolyn is played by Dee Dee Bridgewater, a 3 times Grammy winner and a tony award winner. Love how the show keeps using actual musicians for acting roles. Her voice sounded great in the episode and her look at the end with the purple and the hair on the rooftop was right out of an opera. All the Richie and Duncan interactions were pretty funny, especially when Duncan's about to enter the sewers. There were a few weak points in the storytelling (not addressing Ursa killing Frank on his own really being the main one, Carolyn turning to murder real quick being a minor one lol) but I'll forgive those for the great scenes in the tunnels and rooftop plus the musical score.

The weird music is meant to be the “buzz” that immortals feel when they’re in each other’s presence. It’s how they know when another immortal is close by.

I'm not a huge fan of stories like Phantom of the Opera, so admit I wasn't watching the last half of the episode very closely.

Even with the odd hiccup, it's nice to see the actors still swinging for the fences with whatever material they are given.
