The thing that kept resounding in my head when I first watched this was Kripke is amazing. Yes, the original comics gives him his foundation but his alterations, rebuilds and layers to the characters take this to such a different level and emotional carnage. I laughed when you said "I hope they don't take it too far". I know what you were referring to but all I could think of was ' It's pretty clear going too far is Eric Kripke's motto!' The first time I ever saw Jensen asked what he thought of the show, was way before he was even thought about for Soldier Boy. The knowing look on his face when he responded with something like this is everything he wanted to do with Supernatural and couldn't get away with on the network. And I do see that. I love this episode so much. You get a lot of information in short bites that immediately give new depth and layers to characters and it is brilliantly done. And then you get things like a supe with a mega-dick because that's........ The Boys, lol. I'm so eager for you to wrap up this season so you can see the new trailer that dropped. You were one of the first people I thought of when I saw it. I was like a kid at Christmas! And action clips with our favorite guy. Jensen is all over the internet. Can't help but wonder how many new viewers he'll be bringing to the show like the gorgeous Pied Piper that he is. (Yes, I'm doing the happy dance and clapping my hands like a four year old. I admit it.) But I can't wait for you to see the next episode either. This show is crammed full of incredible characters ( and a line up of A1 actors) and makes you feel so much. And question everything. And endlessly surprise you. And make you feel a little dirty🤣 Even before we knew about Jensen joining the cast, the LONG wait for season 3 was torture.

Dude was dead. (Or at least they believed he was.) It was in Starlight's face and body language + I don't think she would have left him as easily if he had a pulse and/or was breathing. He was real still in those lingering shots while leaking from his brainpan. Kripke has said he thinks straight male discomfort is hilarious (a reason he gave for his excitement about MM's being strangled by a giant dick). That explains so much. I can't agree with everything @ElysiaFields said more. Kripke is an evil genius. He handles this dynamic ensemble with an expertise that should be studied, god love'im. 💕 I would've already been excited for Season 3. Jensen's skillset and brand of humor are only making me more so.
