I am always down with Jodie Mills showing up. I love that they brought her back. She's a great character and brings so much to the part. A strong good woman is what this show needs sometimes. I love how it's also like a big sister thing with her and Sam. Jodie and Sam are a favorite pair of mine, their energies compliments one another. I like Sam and Dean working cases with others for a change. Mix up the pairs I say! Now as for Dean in period dress (or anything besides the hunter flannel) Yep, pretty hot!

The thing is, Elliot Ness never worked for the City of Canton. He was Public Safety Director for the nearby, larger City of Cleveland. He was even more successful in that role, than he was in Chicago. But eventually his heavy drinking and inability to solve the Torso Murders (aka Kingsbury Run Murders - very interesting serial killer case), eventually was his downfall. His ashes were eventually scattered at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland - where President Garfield & John D. Rockefeller are buried.
I'm actually working on a fan fiction story surrounding this episode. My first SPN one. I love this episode for Nicholas Lea (did you catch that was Krycek? - I haven't seen your reaction yet), for Ezra who MUST be a distant relative of Bobby's, for Jody, and esp for Dean in period clothing! YUM

Love Love LOVE this episode! I’m a big fan of the movie ‘Untouchables’, so to see Dean with Eliot Ness was amazing for me (it’s a good movie, if you have time I highly recommend it). Ness didn’t just take down “some gangster”, he took down Al freakin’ Capone! One of the biggest monsters of all time - they got him on income tax evasion charges. The director of this episode said that Jensen was VERY particular about the wardrobe of 1944 Dean. Those modeling roots showing through, and the man knows how to dress! Jared is a gorgeous man, but looking at those stupid porkchop sideburns takes me out of the scene each time Sam is on screen. I find them super distracting. Just an opinion. Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun watching your reaction.

I think I am the only one that is not a fan of Dean’s slicked down hair style. The suit, however, in his words… Awesome!

The episode's ending is very abrupt but actually, there are an extended, cute, 2 more additional minutes to it (deleted scene) with Jody, Sam, and Dean on youtube if you are interested to see it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zv_Mj5-8Sw&t=6s

First time watching this and I cant believe that is canon that Dean likes anime 😂 + Dick jokes keep coming and Im here for it (specially with your “im fine”😅) Owww scary Buffy was cute 😍 Oh gosh, I cant believe I’ve never seen this, I love Robbies episodes 🙌🏻 Eliot Ness was an agent who fought against Al Capone and prohibition Omg! She said “idjiots” 😭 Loooveee the Jody and Sam moments in this 😭❤️ Oh boy oh boy, Jensen being the bad cop with that suit…. 🥵 What a great, fun episode, awesome reaction

It will be on Archive of Our Own, where I have several Starsky & Hutch stories already. But I've just started this one, even though I've already written it in my head. Once it gets to paper, things sometimes change. I don't even have a title for it yet. but thank you for the support and encouragement!

Now that I've seen your reaction, I can say that I've never seen Bobby & Jody as a couple. She's more his cousin, or close friend. The Rufus thing is a bit glaring, but I chalk it up that she arrests many people, so she might've forgotten. Jody is not the "new" Bobby, tho she does come thru here. Sam needed her at this point in time.

Wow! I'd never seen this before! I always wondered how they got from Sheriff to Jody! That's so cute! <333 (I love the relationship they have with her. Especially Sam...)

You didn't react to him so I'm not sure if you caught that Elliott Ness was played the same actor who plays Alex Krycek in The Xfiles🤯😄👌

Actually Ness didn't take down Capone. He was investigating his criminal activities. But because so much attention was on Ness & his "untouchables", the tax auditors were able to quietly build a better case. Ness had much more success as the Public Safety Director in Cleveland, where he actually DID take down a large section of the mob, weeded out police graft, instituted auto safety laws (making Cleveland the safest automobile industry in the country by insurance standards). Unfortunately he had a womanizing & alcohol problem to go along with that hubris.

This is a fun episode! Supernatural does time travel really well. It's great seeing Jody again, and I love the dynamic she and Sam have in this episode. Yeah, the Jody forgetting Rufus is a little bit of a screw up by the writers I think. Dean was definitely in his element in the '40s and it was fun to get a glimpse of their version of Eliot Ness, and Dean's fanboying over him was cute. Plus, Dean in that suit is just wow.

He was also in the Hansel and Gretal episode of Once Upon A Time, as their father.
