I love this episode, dean is breaking my heart as usual, it's interesting that we get an episode about a god who is the judge, the jury & the executioner to parallel dean's actions last episode especially & the winchesters job in general, in a way they're both judges, jury & executioners for the monsters they hunt, i loooove that u brought up cas & his actions last season in this conversation, u r totally right, cas was villainized for hiding things from the winchesters even though he thought he was doing the right thing & dean couldn't look past that & considered it a betrayal & here he does the exact same thing to sam, he hides something from him coz he thinks he's doing the right thing. Dean carries lots of crap he doesn't need to & buries his emotions in alcohol, it's his coping mechanism, he definitely has a drinking problem but it's more of the symptom not the cause of his problems, i just feel so bad for him most of the time
