This is one of my favorite episodes of the X-Files, I think it's because the pacing is different from a lot of others. I can't wait for you guys to watch the season 2 finale, its really really good.

They be wildin out in this town, love it. It gives me Twin peaks vibes but with CHICKENS! Wtf Scully: She walks into the room with all those skeletons with a huge bucket of local chicken!?! Have you been following the logic this case? lol Gotta disagree, long life isn’t overrated, sign me up but you know without... the eating people Chaco seems like the kind of man who would hire his grandkids and make them work their way up from the bottom. I think she purposely lured George Kearns to his death, so she was in on the cult too. I enjoy the allegorical theme of communities banding together to cover up horrible practices, to keep stability and advantage secure. It can apply to real life examples of pedophilia in the church, racism and lynching, corruption and a lot more. Systemic abuse even murder covered up in small towns has a long and even recent history. Often much of the community knows and is culpable but because it’s so pervasive rarely is anyone brought to account. Here we get to see a community reveling in murder and the rewards that come with it and we get to revel in a bit of vengeful ironic justice. Its cathartic. Cannibalism is appropriated by old white men to consolidate power, and enhance their mass production of chicken to be exported all over America. Only in the X-files. Truly some cannibalistic capitalism :D Agree that the placement of this episode right before the season finale feels off
