I hope you're all having a great weekend! Here's a step by step of a character page commission I did last month, I'll post a timelapse of this one soon as well. This one's process was pretty straightforward because I had a pretty clear vision of what I wanted to do from the start. This doesn't happen too often because I lack the ability to visualize the end result in my mind, but when I read the prompts I just instantly knew how I want to place the key elements! My goal was to have an epic battle pose in the center to 'draw in' all the other features with its background elements and tie the composition together. You can see that I tried some effects like a white border here and there, but decided to leave those out eventually.

I feel like I say this about every commission type but character pages are really one of my favorites to do as I get to go crazy with the placement of things! I have gained a lot more courage to do so in the past year, as I started to overlap the pieces more and not worry about leaving parts of the close-ups off the canvas. I think choices like that have helped my work to appear more dynamic, especially avoiding drawing/thinking only inside of the canvas borders when it's not necessary.

Stunning as always, I especially love how dynamic the middle pose is!
