Rough collie design WIP + abandoned sketches (Patreon)

Something I have had in the works since the start of the year, although the original concept is even older than that! I really wanted to make a design that would be inspired by glam rock's hairstyles and androgynous vibe, and a sable headed white collie seemed perfect for that. But because I can't help myself and my taste in music that is stuck in 2000s emo, it gained some features outside of those themes as well. Soon I found myself making something that is more nostalgic to myself in terms of decades, and to be honest I like the combination of all these sources of inspiration a lot!

The first image is how the reference sheet is turning out now, and the rest are abandoned sketches and concepts. In the third image you can see how the design had more of a male feel to it, but by what started as merely a remake of that months old drawing, I ended up making them more androgynous (and most of all fluffy).

After all these months of working on this design and growing very fond of it, I'm honestly tempted to keep it... 😭 I do have too many OCs already though - which isn't a well known fact because I rarely find the time to draw them all. :') If I end up selling them, my patrons will be the first to know!
