At least I'm talking about the Oculus Rift S...

I don't remember when I bought my headset, might be last summer but anyway I bought HalfLife alix at the same time. I didn't find it particularly interesting so I'm still playing it on rare occasion in hope to finish it.

What the point telling you that? Then when I started the game was running flawlessly but now it runs like shit, any game that runs through Steam VR on my Oculus Rift S is running that way, I don't know when the devs have messed with that but it's super annoying...

Koikatsu runs through Steam VR, it turned to an unplayable game with a lot of frame drop, a lot of tearing when I move, in short far more chances to puke than having fun.

However there is a solution to directly runs Koikatsu through OVR without launching Steam VR and it significantly improved my performances.

If you are an Oculus user and have the same problem you should have a look on that

https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/blob/master/README.md

I didn't try the "System-wide installation" but the "Per-game installation", it doesn't work for Half Life Alyx but perfectly for Koikatsu, here's the file I used

openvr_api.dll

Back up the dll "YourGame/KoikatuVR_Data/openvr_api.dll" and put the one from the link above

Hope it can help!

As a Valve Index user, I don't notice too many frame drops and that kind of stuff, aside from blurriness. I'll check if this API improves performance :D

Don't do that! Your headset is designed to use Steam VR, I'm just talking for the Oculus users! If you do that the game won't launch

That's interesting. it runs great on my pc as long as not too much is running, I'll def try this out tho. Edit " This works great, thank you so much"

Aside from the regular differences of OVR and SteamVR, I've also noticed when a controller is nearby a grabbable part, it starts vibrating constantly. Anyone else had this issue?
