There hasn't been a behind the scenes in a hot minute so here is one! :D

Whenever I do linework I always make sure that it is completely closed and has no gaps whatsoever! The reason for that is that I always use the magic wand tool to select and then fill the shapes I have drawn.

For anyone who is wondering, the magic wand tool is a selection tool that you can find in most image software. When you click with it on an area it automatically detects where that area ends, i.e. where another shade begins and makes a smart selection.

I use it like this:
I first finish the linework and then magic wand select everything that is outside the shape. When that is done I invert the selection, which selects everything withing the boundaries of my shape. At this stage I do some minor adjustments. Sometimes my outlines are a bit fuzzy in places, which leads to pointy bits sticking out of the selection. I fix these and then feather the selection by 2px to make the edges a bit softer and proceed fill the selection with a solid color. Then I finish the rest of the owl,.. I mean fox!

That was me art-nerding! :D
I hope you all have a great weekend! :>

I’m a stickler for closed line shapes too for pretty much the same reason.
