Here is something I did that might be interesting. :>

Sometimes when I need to apply some filter effect over my pieces but only want it to be active in certain areas I use something called "Filter Mask" in Krita. What it is is basically a dynamic Filter layer (I can change it's properties whenever I like) with a Transparency mask attached to it, the black and white thing. White on the mask signifies where the filter will be applied and black where it will not be applied.
In this case I wanted the character to be blurry, but only when condensation on the glass is in front. So I used a blur Filter Mask and on the attached mask painted all the parts I wanted sharp in black.
