well, this is everything I made for this story.
I enjoyed a few things about it, despite some of it isn't exactly how I would have done it.
but it's interesting, it was very interesting to re-work a story made by some else, and yet try to keep the most "original" scenes and flow, and still change as much as I could haha.
Personally, I think that next time (If ever) I get to work adapting someone's else story, I'll modify it even further, I was afraid to change it much, because none of the original work would have remained... I still took many liberties, this version of the story is very different from the scripts I got, but I re-did almost every scene in my own way to make it work for me.
I would probably skip everything about the "magical weapons" mentioned in the episode 1, and make everything just about this single sword or something similar, the less complicated, the easier it gets to tell something and the less confusing it becomes.
I tried to "patch" some of the conflictive points as much as I could, without removing anything... but it was difficult, for example, the weapons were sealed for years, but suddenly a few people knew about the temples, I tried to suggest that certain temples could only be found by people searching the items, that way it would at least prevent for someone to find it by chance.
anyway, I hope you've enjoyed it, if you could undestand anything in the drawings hahaa.
I tried to give Jake the most personality in the comic, he was my favorite in the scripts, so I guess I gave him some fun things to say... I also tried very hard to make "Li" to feel like someone capable, something that I didn't feel much in the original scripts, so I tried to make him seem emotional, sensible, "good" yet a very skilled fighter.
anyway, this comic project is now dead, but I didn't wanted for it to go to waste! so at least some people here might read it and imagine it how it could have been...
for me it was a learning experience, as I needed to hone my storytelling even further, that's why I decided to do this thing in the first place.
