Lost memories - Blog 2 "ideas" (Patreon)

I wanted to write a story for Mix and Pixi, originally I was working in a comic named "White and Black" I was doing it without any planning and eventually I lost interest and I felt it wasn't going anywhere.

So I asked to myself what I really wanted to do?

I have several ideas about what I want to draw...

White and Black or?

Mix being a cyborg and being rebuilt by Pixi was going to be the main story for "white and black" in which Mix was going to slowly remember who Pixi was with some flashbacks about their past... it was a weak concept now that I think about it, it was the kind of story that's setup in just one environment, as they would be in some type of shelter.

Then I went back to the past of Mix and Pixi, and thought it wanted to make a "Derideal" style of story, which is something that I ENJOY quite a lot, and comes easy to me... but I feel it could have gotten confusing, as I wanted to explore Mix "memories" as she tried to remember who she was, and it was going to get a similar "dream-like" narrative Derideal has, that's why I even considered named it "derideal"... current tittle is "project prime" as I eventually decided to skip this idea, and re-written everything back.

I had already re-designed Mix and Pixi for this comic a while ago, but it wasn't what's on my interests now... so, I'm changing them again.

Lost memories

I want to make a comic composed of semi-short episodes, something that wasn't really connected chronologically... as it was going to be some "memories" of Mix, as she tries to remember exactly who she was (she will start with some type of amnesia probably)

I wanted to make different "memories" that could be short or longer depending what's about. and that could be enforce just a single idea.

this will be kinda obvious in the comic, the memories part I hope to it to be key to "tell" their story.

Drama or?

The only thing that kinda comes to me easy is dramatic stuff, or sad stuff, or action stuff... so at first I thought about focusing the story completely in some sort of "dream" /vision narration, like to make it almost exactly as Derideal, which is something I enjoy quite a lot... but what if that's not exactly something that people might like?

Mix is a character that was born conceptually out of a very sad background, probably too strong for what I consider acceptable now, let's say... before she was my character her origin was similar as she was being abused and tortured to the point she needed a complete rebuild.

I won't be doing anything like that anymore, at least not exactly, there's already too much sadness in Derideal as it is.. so I'm going to try something different.

I'll try to write just simple story that would focus around certain elements of Derideal, and I'll focus Mix and Pixi story around their first years of creation, when they were serving the Consortium... something that can hopefully have more "light" than darkness, to contrast with the rest of the comics I've made (at some degree).

in resume, this comic will be about Mix and Pixi's past, when they meet each other and surrounding elements about "Xeno Exigus" and their function in human society/Consortium. I hope to make it more "light" and easy to read, which won't mean it will be full or jokes, but I hope to allow some more funny stuff in it, and train more about this.

and in case you wonder, I'm not making XEN any time soon, I want XEN to be better, I need some more serious training to continue, and I felt this story was the perfect chance for me to experiment and become better at comics.
