Clothing Customization has been completed. There is a video demonstration above this devpost. The system came out well and it is in dire need of testing. That said it is pretty stable as a Beta v0.5d for Supporter Tiers. I have opened up #clothing-cards in the Discord where you can share and download other people's cards. I expect it to grow once I release the free v0.5 version on June 22nd.

Some improvements are now per-clothing type snapshots. As in, shoe cards will show the feet, skirts will show the legs, and shirts will show the torso on the card. This was a nice addition I made. Currently there are 4 presets including shoes. There will be more models before the release!

One big improvement is now support for alpha transparency. It will only support punch out transparency so 0 or 1 alpha no in between vales. Since this value is either on or off, I managed to pack it into the steganography card tech by hiding it in the blue channel. If the value of the blue channel is 255, I mark the alpha on that pixel as zero. If it is anything else, it's 1. You don't have to worry about this to make a pixel transparent. It's all automated for you. This opens up great possibilities for clothing as one can literally cookie cut out new clothing pieces. Here's an example I made:

The straps of the base shirt were simply erased in Photoshop. I also cut out the height to show some belly button.

The game now comes with a UVs folder that has all of the clothing piece's UV unwraps. This is what a 3D model uses to "map" its 3D points to the 2D texture.

The button "Show UV Folder" will automatically open up the location of the UVs in your Shinobu executable directory. From here you can pick out one that you want to edit, paint it, and then drag your result back into the game. Previous example:

Painted:

You don't need to paint these UV maps. If you want you could just make a nice solid pattern and call it a day. This is only for people who want more control on their custom texture. These UV maps may change as they are optimized.

Additionally there is a button for showing your Deck folder. This will open up your Deck folder in your Shinobu game directory:

These are the images that you can share on the internet.

A couple devposts ago I said that the player will have to physically help Shinobu wear clothing pieces. This is is still on the todo list but I don't think I will complete such a feature before June 22nd. That said I will definitely revisit it soon and make it. Probably v0.6.

The v0.5 release date is approaching! This last couple weeks I will be focusing on small additions and bugfixing!

Stay Tuned.
