My preference goes clearly to the z-s version of course. Interestingly, I´ve got an issue with the "best bounty hunter of the galaxy" to sacrifice herself - which doesn´t mean the thought wouldn´t be sexy.... (e.g. I like it!) EDIT: Side question: what was the original picture of moon/terminator in the background?

The commissioner suggested that she would do this, and had some reason from cannon they thought it would be in character for her. I know nothing about Samus Aran so I took their word for it. Regarding the picture of the moon behind her - it's from an HDRI for moon orbit - Moon 360, I belive. I took the two images separately then composited them together, applying a bit of blur and motion blur to the moon image behind her to create the impression of relative motion. I had to take them separately because I I didn't quite like the quality of light the HDRI was throwing on her when she and the terminator were at the correct angle to each other so in order to get both her and the moon into the shot I had to create two images. I'll post another image of her with the moon in the background so you can see what this image would have looked like with just the HDRI and not some lighting wizardry provided by yours truly.

Ah, thanks, wondered how you managed the lighting on this one. Interesting. Take a look at the Metroid page on the Wiki. Samus is quite an interesting character you might like eventually.
