Dear Patrons,

What a weird wild thing it is to relearn the world. There have been so many days that we didn't leave the house - something I never thought I'd comfortably do - that now we're relearning everything about tentatively emerging out into the world.

There's a feeling - like when a cast comes off - of being hyper aware and fine tuned to every single thing in the world. It's an exhausting and overwhelming feeling sometimes, but it's also offered some incredible magic. I never thought I'd be overstimulated by a thrift store, but I also never thought a new plant could make my heart soar with happy.

It's an interesting thing to wade through both, to try to get that cast-just-removed feeling to dull just enough that I can navigate without it all being too much, while still keeping that delight in the novelty of every day outings.

The world is so changed, and still in such flux. I've been giving myself oceans of space to be as overjoyed and overwhelmed as I like, and trying to offer that same grace to every human being I cross paths with who's also just newly navigating a re-emerged world.

I hope you find the joyful side of novelty, and that you give yourself so much gentleness for the overwhelm. It is a wonderful thing to have time and space to think these messy thoughts into comic book panels. Thank you for being the most incredible community to doodle my thinkings with. You're wonderful and your support is what makes it possible to take a minute and think things though.

Be gentle lovely Patrons, with yourselves and anyone you come across. I hope you find lots of Extraordinary Ordinary magic.

I feel this one. We were just deciding that we were going to try and do some fall activities this year, like a ren faire and see a friend in Salem, MA. Then we got covid, now my autumn plans are cancelled and I'm having panic attacks if we linger in the grocery store too long. Good luck.

Oooo yes give yourself all the time and space you need. It’s hard to go slow when the world is opening back up.
