Wonderfuls! October approaches and I'm thinking about art challenges.

For folks who haven't heard of it, Inktober is a really popular challenge where artists take a prompt list, and use one word each day to make an art piece every day for the month of October. It's a great way to build a more consistent creative practice and to do it with a community.

I've done Inktober a few times, and used the prompts to make a few kids books, Further Still in 2017 and Ickle & Pickle's Prickle Pear Adventure in 2018. I used the prompt list in 2019 to give reclaimed t-shirts and tote bags a new life by adding art to them each day, and in 2020, I told the story of my time on a mediation retreat one day at a time through October.

NOW it's time to see what we'd like to do this month. Would you guys like to send in prompts and YOU'LL build my prompt list? Want to try out clay and I do a clay-a-day piece? Another story? I also found a great prompt list from an illustrator I really like but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let me know in the comments, or send me a note on socials. I'll be putting it out to folks in my livestreams but wanted to see what the Patreon fam thought first.

Thank you all for your support and for being the loveliest source of creative input. Be well you wonderful folks!

I'm happy with whatever sparks your imagination... Clay? Yes! Storybook? Yes! Lapel pins? Yes! If I was going to kill two birds with one stone, I might build a list of emotes that people use a lot, or wish they could use. 😄 ("When shall we three meet again?" witches, for example.) But it's going to be awesome to see, no matter what you choose. ✨💕✨

How about - a painting or large drawing where you start with 1 character October 1 and then every day add a new character interacting with them, until you're struggling to squeeze the last few in at the end of the month. You could have fun mixing up colour palettes and juxtaposing styles!

OOOOO this sounds like a fun idea! I'd love to get suggestions from people for characters.... a big crowded drawing would also be so delightful at the end!
