I've tried (and failed) multiple times over the course of my life to try to become a runner. As someone with a moderate level of exercise in my life, I actually felt entitled to being able to run. Lemme tell ya, running has humbled me every time. I have long had the mindset that I am not a runner (and I still do).

So when my partner got this giant treadmill, I didn't really expect to use it. At the start of the pandemic it seemed excessive. The thing is huge and ornate and complex and intimidating and I was not exaggerating when I said it's taller than me. At first I was accepting but unenthused about this new piece of obnoxious furniture. It was something that my partner would use and I would side-eye.

Now, with winter looming large, this thing seems much less excessive. It's a way to keep some level of activity in the house AND I have finally determined what I need to be able to run. Super simple, just give me an extremely attractive super-fit triathlete who will take me on virtual tours through the world and break runs into scenic hikes up mountains in the Netherlands or through cities in India WHILE sharing interesting facts about the surrounding ecology, geography, society, IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK??

Happy August you wonderful Patrons. I hope you're getting the things you need to make you feel happy and healthy, whatever they may be, however excessive or odd or reasonable or unreasonable they seem, you deserve them. You necessities might look excessive but they are yours to decide on.

Big love.

I love that you're so solutions-focused, B! It gives me thoughts about what other challenges could be met with eye candy and brain porn. 🌟

Aw thanks Jeana. I try! Some days are better than others and framing things into comics definitely helps!
