I went to the park with my niece recently and was fascinated to learn that babies and toddlers have their own unique way of making friends. This might involve giving of toys or grabbing of faces, but primarily they stand silently and stare into one another’s souls for as long as it takes to determine “friendship.” I made this little comic that will go up later on socials but I wanted to share it with you beautiful folks first!

While this toddler-friendship weirded me right out, it also made me realize that they’re just doing what we’d all want to do before we learn to be embarassed. OF COURSE we want to stare into the souls of others! They are fascinating creatures! Humans are remarkable and amazing and there is little more interesting than trying to figure out about another whole separate PERSON.

So while I may not take up this lengthy staring as a way to get to know people, I will remind myself that being interested in other people is a wonderful quality. I’m gonna try to find the happy medium between cool disinterest and soul-staring. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

Thank YOU lovely patrons for making these little comics possible. You’re all fascinating and I’d go to the park with you any day.

Brenda
