This video took a little longer than I wanted due to some technical issues. 

With the ever-expanding Boomer Shooter Bubble, the number of these games coming out or getting updated has gotten out of control. Just in this video - Nightmare Reaper Episode 2, The HROT Demo, Project Warlock (finally), Viscerafest, and Prodeus - all games that I enjoy and I'm dreading when I have to pan one of these things for being dogshit, an eventuality we grow closer to every day. My bet is on Hypergore. It looks derivative.

Next up is XMAS GRABBAG 2: GRAB HARDER and I'm excited to get working on that. Lots of fun stuff on the way. I was going to do a long-requested video for Christmas but I realized that I wanted to put more time into that particular project so I'll probably start working on that in January.

Can't wait to watch this and also the Xmas video sounds fun. I finally got the Doom 64 rerelease and I'm onto the "Lost Levels" they added in, they definitely seem a bit tougher than the base game off the bat.

It's a great time to be a fan of these games. Cos even a video with this many games only scratches the surface of everything coming up. PinkEye, Wrath leaving Early Access eventually, Rise of the Triad Remastered, one can hope Blackroom gets finished one day. Fun times in store

I so want to do a video about Wolfenstein games, but that would be the beginning of yet another series. I beat Wolf3D on Death Incarnate. I almost beat it all the way through on Death incarnate on the GBA port.

Personally I felt kind of let down by Nightmare Reaper episode 2. New levels, good, new monsters, good, new guns, good, but the bosses are just... so incredibly uninspired and unfun to deal with on every level. Plus the levels just feel too short and often not arena-y enough. You get a sweet gun and then oh whoops you get to use it for one room and then level over. Or you get a level that has one proper arena and then ten small cupboards with one monster each.

Man, you got much better weapons in Nightmare Reaper than I did. Felt like my Episode 2 playthrough I was always getting garbage... Maybe I was just unlucky.

Civvie, if you want to see the perfect shotgun(s), play Project Brutality. The shotguns in that put the ones in this video to shame.

Those quad-barrel shotguns are pretty impressive, but I have to say that the best one is actually from the Doom mod, Russian Overkill. The alt-fire fires four quad-barrel shotguns at the same time. Also, love this video.

If you really need hardware, we do retro LAN parties and I have about 28 laptops right now. (Yes, I have a problem!) These laptops were top of the line back in 2001 and it was the last to support win98. Plus the docking station has DVI out, so you can capture from it. Drop me a message if you want one.

I'm gonna buy nightmare reaper. I wasn't gonna buy it before but knowing that game creators of old school shooters are actually watching these videos are a proof that they are trying to know what we want and you have to support that.

Awesome video, Civvie! Glad you liked Project Warlock. It's hard to explain but that and Prodeus feel really good to play. The gun sounds, impact, music, difficulty...all great in those games. I'm looking forward to trying out Viscerafest!

Edit: Great Video Civvie! its shame that Project Warlock never gave you enough to work to make a full video, it is a great one tho! Do you think that now in the age of Neo-retro FPS games, that will will finally get Blood 3? Hexen/Heretic? Jedi Knight? It feels surreal to see a project by a school mate (Core Decay) show up in places. You might enjoy it Civvie!

After playing through the Viscerafest demo (thanks Civvie, cuz I don’t know if I would’ve ever heard of this game otherwise), the white hood enemies that don’t attack you kinda feel like static health pickups, which seems like an awesome idea if that’s what the devs were going for. Also, obligatory pro (insert game here) when Civvie.

Definitely looking forward to Redneck Rampage and expansions, but I want to see Pro "Catfight" first. Anything by the creators of "Island Peril" has *got* to be worth inflicting on Civvie.

I would've loved to see you cover some commercial GZDoom stuff like Hedon and Scumhead's Shrine and Lycanthorn series. Those games are awesome and they really deserve a lot more recognition than they've gotten so far.
