Ok so regarding Johan he has literally been behind everything all the way back since Breakneck Bog (From Riders/Defenders of Berk). And if you think carefully about it, it all makes sense. Because whenever Johan has appeared, something bad has always happened. Sure the problem seemed to have been caused by something/someone else but Johan was smart enough to know how to conceal everything even though his actions were sometimes suspicious. But what I find most impressive is how RTTE's writers managed to logically connect the events of Riders/Defenders to the events in RTTE and create one massive story that actually works out. I have no idea how long the Johan betrayal had been planned for but goddam that's superb writing because literally NO ONE would have seen it coming without being spoiled. When you rewatch all the eps again it actually makes sense since all the plotpoints add up from riders/defenders to rtte. There's a moment in S6 where we get an explanation you'll see.

Since the series was officially meant to end on season 4. I'd assume the whole Johan betrayal was planned after that. So that makes it even more impressive to connect that to already existing events

Good point. But what are the odds that every Johan appearance/interaction in previous episodes was written in a way such that it allowed this reveal to work? Like all it would've taken was 1 piece of dissimilar writing to shatter the entire logic behind him being a villain, yet somehow everything managed to fall into place which makes it one of the greatest WTF moments in the entire series, probably beating the "Heather is Dagur's sister" reveal.
