Maagii (Patreon)

I had this in mind for a while and had to piece it together today. So [HERE COMES A NEW CHARACTER]

Her name is Maagii and she's a volcano goddess made out of lava, taking the form of a phoenix.

Every so often the inhabitants of the island where she resides will send one (or several) people down to 'appease' her. This is what they're told, and it's sort of a hint of what they're supposed to do—she needs somebody to stay with her (cuz... y'know, people stay away from volcanoes.) If they're too frightened and repeatedly try to run away or attempt to resist, she'll engulf them with a swoop of her wings and absorb them. But if they remain calm and keep her company, they'll be welcomed guests in her home. 

She's very talkative and interested in hearing about the state of the outside world, as she cannot stray far from her lair without eventually hardening to stone. Inside her volcano she has full control of her form, she can raise or lower her temperature as needed, making herself safe to touch, although extremely warm. That's sorta necessary, because she's very much a cuddler. Visitors will spend extended periods of time partly engulfed by her, barely able to move (molten rock is extremely thick after all) while trading stories. Having lived for thousands of years, she's got plenty that she's heard and wants more of them. 

When she's had enough company or is probably exhausted, she'll let them go, but not before making them a large ostrich-sized charcoal rock egg to take back. It's easily crumbled, but inside are priceless jewels formed by intense heat. So the next time somebody tells you to jump into a volcano, you should probably thank them for the good advice!
