Today

Today I rolled out fixes for addressing the broken top lists for waifus (liked, trashed waifus). I also restructured internally how these work so it can be more easily scaled upward in the future. Users have frequently asked for more entries in the trashlist, toplist, etc. The main challenge is calculating the ratio with respect to the weight and keeping it fast. The popular list is more simple as it's a flat query (just need to count)

I'll be updating these to allow top 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 in the future now that the cache system is in place and updating hourly without issue.

Trending Waifus will keep track of views and put them on the dashboard after 100. Low view entries will be purged nightly too (no sense in keeping records for several thousand Waifus that get only a few views a day). It will be interesting to chart specific character views as shows come out, etc. Additionally, Naijeru said he liked data, so I'll be letting him put together some nice infographics with the results.

THE MOIST METER

The next feature, in additional to some API improvements, will be a weekly MOIST METER. Currently shows are tracked on other services for their popularity but I wanted to put together a force-rank system and let users vote every Sunday. The voting period will start Monday 12:00 AM and will close Sunday at 11:59PM PST.

The goal is simple: of all the shows you watched, drag the moist meter from 100 year drought to 500 year flood. These will be ranked and put together to get community sentiment of shows being aired each week.

Thank you all for your continued support!
