Hello friends,

Because of your support, I'm finding myself able to devote more time and effort into making video lessons, and other resources. Today I decided to depart from my scheduled "Lick of the Week," and offer a more comprehensive lesson on blues guitar playing. In this tutorial, I'll break down how to play three classic licks, and a very useful shuffle pattern, all inspired by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan. Below you will find the link to your PDF study sheet, which includes tabs for your licks, shuffle and essential scales. Let's get started!

Hi, if i count the first lick it starts at 2 but also end at 2 while it sounds like it should end on the first beat with A. I am probably saying something stupd here , but i hope you understand my question and could explain, grtz Jolmer

Great lesson, thanks Rob. Good to have the additional context (scales, etc) for the licks

Love these lick lessons. Learning the licks and the fooling around with them is really helpful.

As a "experienced beginner" don't prefer older beginner term :), I love these licks that push me a little. As always, having no formal music training, I really enjoy the theory breakdown. Almost a lesson within a lesson.

Hey Greg, sorry you’re having issues. The link for tabs seems to work fine on my device. Can you try using a different browser? Often times that’s the simplest fix.

Oh yes! The reason I became a Patron was to get this tab!
