Hello friends,

For our lick of the week for 6.13.16, I've shared a very nice country-rock lick that uses a lot of real-estate across your fretboard. I've used this weeks lesson as an opportunity to break down how I might use the major scale in "chordal form" to create licks and melodies.

Below you will find the link to your TABS, and also my country style backing track. I suggest you practice visualizing your chord shapes, and how they relate to your scales, as you jam over this track, and others at YouTube.com/JamTracks365.

In today’s lesson we will seek to develop a better understanding of how to solo over major keys. To help expand your command of the fretbaord, I’ll be showing you how I use the major scale in “chordal form” to develop licks that are melodic and closely connected to the progression I’m performing over. We will combine several scales and positions to create a lick that is as country as it is rock & roll.
