Hello friends,

Welcome back to Swiftlessons for another lead guitar tutorial! In today's session, we'll build upon our previous lesson on the 8 bar minor blues progression, and learn how to apply essential lead guitar concepts. We'll begin this tutorial by reviewing useful scales, before learning two back to back solos that are chockfull of classic licks. Let's get started!

Est ce qu'on pourrait avoir le riff en loops ?

Hey Rock, you can actually use the Soundslice tutorial to loop any section you like, simply by highlighting a portion of the tab. Such a powerful practice tool! Have fun. -Rob

I don’t get ….why and where are the chord shapes …..why are they important ? Is there an easier way to learn this other than by rote ? How does the melody line coincide with the chords?

Where is the post to get the backing track? There is no link on the upper right hand corner.

This post includes a lesson on how to play the progression and also midi audio files demonstrating both basic and advanced versions. https://www.patreon.com/posts/8-bar-minor-55598724

I'll try answering as many of your questions as possible here: • Guitar Pro 7 - This is an amazing program that allows you to view/edit tabs, listen back, loop sections and control playback speed. I highly recommend it. Getting responses from me - I do my best to answer as many comments and messages as possible, but am a one man show with an infant and very limited time. • How chord progressions and melodies connect - Chord progressions and melodies fit best when they are both drawn from the same scale, but on occasion you can borrow notes and chords from other scales to create more interesting compositions and tension.
