Hello friends,

In today’s session we’ll be breaking out of the minor pentatonic box, and discovering how you can diversify your licks by making use of the major pentatonic scale in D position. This major pentatonic pattern is positioned next to the common E position of the minor pentatonic scale, making it an accessible alternative. We'll begin by reviewing our scale positions, before learning two ear-catching blues licks, let's get started!

Love these lessons. So hip. So cool. So much harder than they look! Practice is my friend. Thanks as always, Rob.

Hi Rob. Thanks for these cool tricks and for the escape routine. I can't wait to get access to the corresponding cool backing track promised to come soon...

swiftlessons

Hey Jürgen, thanks, glad you’re enjoying this tutorial, this trick is super useful. I’ll have that backing track up tonight, thanks for your patience!

Hey, just wanted to let you know I added a backing track. Hope you're enjoying your practice!

Is the tab available for this lead? Video says full tabs are available but the PDF above is just simple licks - not the demoed version? Also, how do I create a link or add a favorite so I can easily come back later? I just spent 5+ minutes trying to track this video down. Thanks.

swiftlessons

Hey Todd, the demo is just to show how these licks can be applied in an actual lead part, the focus on this lesson is the positions and a few hand picked licks. While there is no way to favorite lessons on Patreon, you can book mark lessons using your browser. Good news, at the end of this month patreon is adding a search bar, so finding specific resources and videos will become much easier.

Hi Rob, thanks for the reply and that all makes sense. I couldn't figure out how to get a link to bookmark for a specific video. Now I see that if I click on the title of the video it will take me to a specific URL just for the video. I can then bookmark that. I'm all set and thanks again.
